you know, sometimes I think that my family is just a drama magnet. Nothing is ever simple, and things are rarely easily resolved.
it seems to be focused mainly on my father and my older sister, shannon. my mother and I can quite happily go through life with little happening to us. it's just the other two that seem to attract assholes and bad situations.
as my father was coming home sunday afternoon from work, he got run off the road by a woman that came around a blind curve, going about 70, in his lane. he ended up in a ditch. unhurt, luckily. the woman did not stop..she just kept going.
so my father, not being the type to just let something like that go, got his truck out of the ditch and followed her until he could get her tag number. he apparently tried to wave her down before he got her tag, but she did not stop.
after getting the number, he turned around and came home..but the woman had called her husband, who in turn chased my father all the way back to our house. I was in my room when I heard my father pull into the driveway, and then about two minutes later, heard a great deal of shouting coming from outside.
the man got out of his van and proceeded to bitch my father out for following his wife and getting her tag number. he was waving his arms around, poking my dad in the chest, calling him "white creeker trash" (creeker being an insulting name for people that come from this area), and claiming that he "owned this county, owned the police, ect..ect..ect.." funny thing is that on the side of his van was the name of his company..he's a house cleaner. riiiight. and he "owns this county".
my father asked him what would have happened if his wife had killed him. the man told him they would've "bought his family off". uh huh. and would he have paid my mother's medical bills as well? how about her highly expensive health insurance? if something happened to my dad, my mother would have to go back to england, because she's still a british citizen and she'd need the free health care. she can't work, and so she couldn't afford to live here and pay her insurance, let alone anything else. christ, some people are pricks.
so eventually, after about 20 more minutes of arm waving, chest poking, finger pointing, and shouting, the man got back into his van and left. my father came inside and called the local sheriff's office to file a report. I'm not sure what will come of it, but I hope the man gets a slap upside the head for being such a royal prick.
none of this would have happened if the man's stupid wife had just stopped and asked if my dad was OK, instead of just running him off the road and not even slowing down. she had her kids in the car with her, aparently..that's real great, right? teach them early that it's ok to drive like a moron and not stop when you cause an accident. hell, none of this would have happened if she'd..oh..I dunno..stayed in her own lane.
what I find most amusing is the whole "white trash" remark. I've got news for you, buddy..you live in bullitt county too, probably in the valley if you managed to chase my dad down so fast. and let me tell you..outside of bullitt county, and especially outside of the valley, you'd be considered white trash too. outside of kentucky, and especially in the state where I was born, you'd be dumb redneck white trash. and anyone who has half a brain cell could figure out that where you're from doesn't make you trash..it's your attitude that does it.

You ought to ask the guy to come clean for you. Say you are contributing to him "buying off the next family that his wife doesn't miss".
Also, if he was doing his job as well as he should have, (clecning houses) there shouldn'tbe any white trash in BC!

You should get a bunch of friends to pu in calls to his business, make believe they need houses cleaned, and when he sows up act like they never heard of him. Jerkoff. Period.
Well it's good that your dad is safe, now if only he didn't have trouble follow him home.
If this guy's wife eventually runs some deranged guy off a road, they'll likely have a less than civil situation on their heads. Either way if she makes this a habit it's gonna come back on them (or her), at least legally.
The husband sounded out of control already, but I'm sure she really milked her chance at playing the victim when she told him what happened. Well, maybe the police can put this to rest.
My sister, best friend and I all had a run-in with a crazy driver years ago but it wasn't nearly as drastic as that. After reading the other thread about crime in KY, man that place is starting to sound like a living Oliver Stone movie.
